Job Description & Requirements
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior English Preschool Teacher who will co-lead a bilingual immersion learning environment. You will design and implement thematic based, inquiry-driven learning experiences following the school standards that inspire curiosity, support English language development, and complement our immersive Mandarin programme.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum & Pedagogy:
- Deliver thematic and project-based lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum goals and ECDA standards.
- Foster a language-rich environment that develops children's speaking, listening, reading, and early writing skills in English.
- Co-plan and collaborate with Mandarin teachers to ensure interdisciplinary links across both languages.
- Lead and coordinate parent events for festivals, exhibitions, field trips and parent volunteering opportunities
- Collaborate with team of teachers, curriculum specialist and centre principal to implement best practices and respectful nurturing and care to children aged 18 months to 6 years
- Be familiarised with all working curriculum documents, handbooks and policy manuals
2. Learning Environment & Classroom Management:
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom where children feel secure and motivated to explore and express themselves.
- Apply positive guidance techniques to support children’s socio-emotional growth.
- Oversee and responsible for the upkeep of learning environment, teaching resources, arrangement, appearance, decorations, and learning environment of the classroom.
3. Assessment & Documentation:
- Observe, document, and assess children’s learning and development using formative and authentic assessment tools.
- Prepare individual portfolios and share learning updates with families.
4. Professionalism & Leadership:
- Mentor and support junior educators and assistant teachers in classroom practices.
- Lead reflective discussions and contribute actively to curriculum review and innovation.
- Uphold professional ethics and contribute to a strong school culture of respect, learning, and excellence.
- Lead with confidence parent communications in-person and via online platforms, displaying strong communication skills and a supportive and partnership-driven mindset to parent relationships
- Assist the Principal in administrative matters as part of career progression
Requirements
- L2 accredited
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education – Teaching (DECCE-T)
- Degree in Early Childhood Education / Education (preferred)
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience in a preschool setting
- Strong command of spoken and written English
- Familiarity with Singapore’s NEL Framework, and ECDA Code of Practice
- Passionate, nurturing, collaborative, and adaptable in a bilingual teaching environment, with strong interest in career progression to leadership roles
