Job summary

Ng Teng Fong General Hospital is seeking Senior / Staff Nurse (SOC - Pre-Anaesthesia Screening) to deliver high-quality patient care before anaesthesia.

The role requires diploma nursing qualification with 3–5 years of acute care experience; advanced diploma preferred for senior position. You will conduct pre-operative assessments, monitor vitals, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and effective perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing or SRN qualification is required.
• Advanced Diploma in Nursing or equivalent is preferred for Senior Staff Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments for patients undergoing anaesthesia.
• Review medical history, medications, allergies, and investigations.
• Identify perioperative risks and escalate when needed.
• Provide pre-operative education and counseling to patients and families.
• Interpret 12-lead ECG findings and monitor investigations.
• Recognise early signs of deterioration and escalate to anaesthetist.
• Perform venepuncture and basic patient assessments including vitals.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to safety protocols.
