Job summary

SILICON BOX is seeking a Member of Technical Staff/Engineer, QA (Process Quality Control) to develop and deploy inspection procedures ensuring material conformance before release in a fast-paced semiconductor backend environment.

The role leads PQC engineers, covers backend packaging steps (ball drop, bumping, singulation, backgrind, mounting), and drives cross-functional continuous improvement with data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, or related).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend semiconductor packaging.
• Strong foundation in process engineering, yield improvement, and quality control.
• Proficient in SPC and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with FMEA, Control Plans, and OSAT backend processes.
• Hands-on experience with new product and process evaluations.
• Effective communicator; capable of presenting data and driving cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead PQC engineers and inspectors to meet yield and gating goals.
• Manage backend packaging steps: ball drop, bumping, singulation, backgrind, mounting.
• Develop and enhance work instructions, control plans, and FMEA.
• Provide engineering support to meet output, quality, efficiency, yield, cycle time, and safety.
• Perform data analysis and present findings to stakeholders for alignment and action.
• Drive cross-functional meetings to mitigate yield loss and create action roadmaps.
• Implement permanent corrective actions for chronic issues.
• Support new product processes and pilot-to-volume transitions.
• Collaborate with OSAT teams to resolve defects impacting yield and quality.
• Ensure accuracy of control documents and audit readiness.
