Job summary

Sanmina in Singapore is seeking a Senior Engineer II (Hardware Design) to lead power electronics for data centre servers and rack systems. You will define architectures, budgets and collaborate with thermal and firmware teams to meet physical and cooling constraints.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in power electronics, deep knowledge of buck/boost topologies, GaN/SiC devices, and experience with CAD tools. This role requires strong problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Degree or Master in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in power electronics design and hardware systems.
Deep understanding of power topologies (buck/boost) and WBG semiconductors (GaN/SiC).
Experience with NP I project execution and product development life cycle.
Proficiency with CAD tools (Cadence Allegro, PADS, Altium).
Familiarity with ISO9001 and power integrity simulations.

Responsibilities

Define power supply architectures (AC/DC and DC/DC) for data centre servers and rack-level systems.
Design system power trees and perform power budgeting; determine thermal budget with thermal engineers.
Select power supply solutions for 12-400V input to high current low voltages.
Analyze efficiency, thermal loss budgeting for switching devices, magnets and passives.
Perform schematic capture and guide PCB layouts to minimize EMI/EMC and ensure PI.
Run rigorous simulations for power conversion, thermal management, and magnetic design.
