Job summary

A leading Taiwanese multinational in Singapore is looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to enhance their R&D team. This role involves system integration and verification of power electronics, including testing and compliance with standards. Ideal candidates will have expertise in PLC programming, high power systems, and strong analytical skills across various protocols and tests.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience for integration and validation, >5 years for senior position.
  • Experience in power supply industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IEC/EN/IPC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Integration and testing of power supply hardware and control algorithms.
  • Conduct reliability and immunity tests; provide analysis reports.

As part of its expansion, our client is seeking talented professionals to join them in an exciting new role.


Senior Power Electronics Engineer (System Integration and Verification)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Integration and testing of power supply hardware with good knowledge in various power converters.
  • Operating high power test with AC or DC source, from kilowatts up to Megawatts.
  • Operating with 400V to 800V systems.
  • Develop control algorithms using PLC, for system integration and monitoring.
  • To conduct reliability and immunity tests such as Surge, EFT, ESD, voltage dips/fluctuation, EMC, EMI and hi-pot, etc.
  • To conduct design verification (evaluation) test based on power electronic performances. This includes start up behaviour, transient waveform, dynamic or step response, gain/phase measurement, etc.
  • Provide analysis report of Design Verification Test (DVT).
  • Update test requirement to latest version.
  • Understand UL/IEC Compliance and EN test standards for ITE/Medical standards.
  • Understand the important of Immunity, reliability and performance tests.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Electronic & Electrical Engineering with minimum 3 years of relevant experiences in integration and validation, or >5 years of experience for senior engineer position.
  • Experience in PLC programming. Proficient in most communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN bus, RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI and customized protocols.
  • Knowledge in test procedure according to IEC/EN/IPC standards.
  • Knowledge in AC and DC circuit breaker and its protections.
  • Experience in power supply related industry will be a plus.
  • Experience in C programming will be plus.
  • Familiar with various high power test equipment.
  • Able to communicate technical content with electrical, mechanical and firmware engineers.
