What you will be working on:

The Private & Shared Mobility Division oversees the development of private transport policies, encompassing vehicles, roads, and active mobility, and is also responsible for the development of strategies to prepare the MOT Family for future mobility challenges and opportunities, particularly in the areas of sustainability, research and development and inter-modal connectivity. The Division also coordinates strategic planning and transformation work across the MOT Family.As part of the team, you are expected to:• Develop private mobility strategies and policies, such as on the Certificate of Entitlement;• Develop measures to contribute to the transport sector’s move towards sustainability;• Conduct environment scans on trends and developments that may impact the future of transport; and• Engage international and local thought leaders from both the private and public sectors, as well as help spur industry development efforts.

What we are looking for:

You should be a Singapore citizen, preferably with prior work experience in the fields of public policy, research, futures, consulting, or public sector experience in a strategy or policy analysis role or in the transport or infrastructure sector.Candidates should possess strong critical thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, excellent writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Candidates should be able to work independently, confident of handling qualitative and quantitative information and analysing their impact on the transport landscape for Singapore.

MOT oversees the development and regulation of the following sectors:• Civil Aviation and Air Transport• Maritime and Ports• Land TransportBesides providing an efficient and cost-effective transportation in Singapore, it also strives to make Singapore an international civil aviation and maritime centre for the region.The ministry sets the strategic and policy direction while operations and regulatory works are carried out by the statutory boards under its charge. There are four statutory boards which are established by Acts of Parliament: the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Public Transport Council (PTC). The ministry also oversees the operation of the Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB).
