Job summary

WIELAND METALS SINGAPORE (PTE) LTD is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to oversee plant equipment, preventive maintenance and uptime improvements. You will analyze downtime data, identify root causes, and support machine installations and upgrades on the production line.

The role requires 5–10 years of relevant experience, familiarity with Siemens automation, and SAP/ISO-compliant maintenance processes. OT and on-call support are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Familiar with Automation and Control engineering.
• Reading complex circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge in SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all plant equipment and preventive maintenance; ensure machines are in good working condition.
• Use analytics and downtime data to identify root causes and reduce breakdowns.
• Assist Plant Engineering Manager with machine installations in production line.
• Ensure operational efficiency of production, maintenance, and equipment upgrades.
• Oversee new machinery installation and future expansion in production.
• Train and develop maintenance technicians on shop equipment and latest technology.
• Recommend corrective actions for quality discrepancies.
• Implement SAP system and improve maintenance processes.
• Maintain ISO standards, procedures and machine records in Maintenance.
• Support quality objectives and initiate improvement programs.
• Troubleshoot critical issues in the production line.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all plant equipment & making sure machinery are in good working condition with preventive maintenance program as well as breakdown maintenance in the plant.
• Using analytical tools and machine down time data to identify root causes and implement effective measures to reduce breakdown occurrence and extended downtime.
• Assist Plant Engineering Manager – Plant Engineering for machine installations in the production line.
• Responsible for the operational efficiency of the production process, maintenance functions and equipment upgrading.
• Responsible for new machinery and installation in the production for future expansion.
• To ensure that the team of maintenance technicians are continuously trained and developed in supporting shop equipment & machinery that operate using the latest available technology.
• Responsible for recommendations of corrective actions in case of quality discrepancies.
• Responsible for implementation of SAP system and improvement of Maintenance process.
• Responsible for the ISO standards, procedures and implementation of maintaining machine instructions/records in Maintenance department.
• Support quality objectives and assists in initiating improvement programs.
• Support and trouble-shoot critical issues in the production line.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintenance projects such as total contamination control, workshop 5S and Total Productive Maintenance.
• Responsible for plant shift change and coverage for maintenance activities.
• Responsible for monthly KPI in terms of downtime and preventive maintenance.
• Authority to down the line if any abnormalities or safety concern arise.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering and minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Familiar with Automation and Control engineering.
• Working experience in Siemens PLC S5 and S7, Siemens drives frequency converters, Siemens Master drives, Micromaster and Sinamics.
• Knowledge of MS Office is a must, SAP will be an added advantage.
• Ability to read complex circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge in Mechanics, Pneumatics and Hydraulics will be added advantage.
• Strong personality with a hands-on attitude.
• Ability to perform overtime on weekdays & weekends.
• On Call Support during and after office hours.
