Job summary

UES HOLDINGS PTE LTD is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Design Engineer to review client specs, develop piping layouts, and perform stress analyses for process plants. You will prepare technical specifications, coordinate with BIM, and support RFQ processes through to commissioning.

The candidate should have 5+ years in piping design, experience with Revit/Plant 3D and Caesar II, and strong collaboration with external stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of piping design experience in process plants (incineration, chemical, water/wastewater, steam pipelines).
• 5 years of piping-related work including installation, supervision, start-up.
• Experience with Revit/AutoCAD Plant 3D preferred.
• Experience with Caesar II and other design software.
• Ability to interface with external parties during project execution to ensure compliance with Engineering Standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with BIM team for piping input and clash analysis.
• Participate in construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Communicate design issues proactively to stakeholders.

Job Description

• Review and understand the technical specifications/drawings from client to understand the contract requirement

• Review the technical specification/datasheet/calculation/drawings from technical providers / package system providers/sub-contractors/suppliers and make sure piping and valve design meet contract requirement

• Prepare the technical specification/datasheet for mechanical, piping and valves

• Piping layout, cladding, and support design based on the P&ID

• Conduct piping system design calculation; stress analysis, including pipe size calculation, etc

• Piping specification, insulation, painting specification writeup, clarification with stakeholders

• RFQ preparation with design input and technical proposal evaluation / clarification, covering piping related work, tanks / silos, and vessels

• Discuss all pertinent problems encountered during design stage

• Coordination of internal and external piping design activities and the interfaces of inter-disciplines to ensure that the project objectives and needs are met

• Ensure openly communicate with various discipline proactively

• Coordinate with BIM team for the piping design work, provide piping input for BIM modelling and clash analysis

• Prepare material take off and requisition for project work and to ensure that the items procured are in accordance with specifications and schedule to ensure timely delivery

• Prepare technical submissions for piping system and work with design lead to liaise with client for submission approval

• Participate during construction, installation and commissioning activities

• Perform any other duties related to piping design work as may be requested by design lead

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering, or related engineering disciplines

• Min 5 years of experience in designing piping systems in process plant (such as incineration plant, chemical plat, water/wastewater plant, steam pipe line, etc).

• 5-year experience in piping related work, installation, supervision, provide guideline and start-up.

• Experience with Revit/AutoCAD Plant 3D will be preferred

• Experience in others related design software's such as Caesar II

• Ability to interface with external parties during the project execution phase, as needed, to ensure that design and specifications meet out Engineering Standards
