Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in AH.
Assist the pharmacist in-charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.
Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
Daily Operations
Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers
Process medication orders/prescriptions for both inpatient and outpatient
Picking, packing and labelling in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures
Perform billing functions
Ensure work area is ready for daily operations
Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and ward areas where drugs are stored
Involvement in workplace quality improvement projects/activities as and when required
Inventory Management
Ensure stocks are stocked up properly and tidily according to First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) requirement and stipulated storage condition
Perform topping up of Omnicell ward stock in the respective wards
Ensure correct receiving of goods
Secondary repackaging/redressing
Carry out cycle counts and stock takes periodically according to SOPs
Dispensing
Dispense medications to patients in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures
Requirements
Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science
Completed Basic Skill Test OR Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC)
Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department
Able to communicate effectively
Able to function effectively as a member of a team
Flexibility to work on weekends/public holidays occasionally
