Overview
An Informatics Pharmacist is part of the team supporting existing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems and Pharmacy Systems to facilitate safe and efficient work processes and optimization of pharmacy practice.
Job Responsibilities
Support of existing EMR and Pharmacy Systems
Troubleshoot and/or evaluate issues in System(s) or work processes and through close collaboration with System Support team and Pharmacy Users
Plan the workflows with new systems, configuration of the systems and intensive Systems testing to ensure the systems are configured correctly.
Co-lead and/or support the implementation and/or maintenance of Pharmacy automation systems
Co-lead and/or support various Inpatient or Outpatient Pharmacy automation systems in the planning, development of specifications of key automation functions for a value streamlined processes in medication management.
Actively support and foster Informatics and Department team communication respectively
Support and/or Implement policies, practices and regulations established by the pharmacy department, various management committees and outside regulatory agencies e.g. MOH medication related policies, pharmacy practice standards, JCI standards.
Conducts new employee orientation and staff development programme for various IT systems used in the department.
Reviews relevant policy and procedure manuals regularly, making revisions as necessary.
Job Requirements
Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
At least 1 year experience in Inpatient and/or Outpatient Pharmacy practice
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
A team player with positive attitude, is self-motivated and open to learn new skill sets and perform in domain of Informatics Pharmacy
Strong Verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Good understanding of pharmacy workflows
