Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review each patient’s medication chart or prescription for appropriateness and contact the prescribing doctor when an intervention is needed.
• Ensure that all orders are clear and specific; doses within therapeutic limits.
• Identify potential adverse reactions and drug interactions.
• Dispense medications with clear indications and administration instructions.
• Provide drug information and lectures to other healthcare professionals.
• Delegate, oversee and review the work of subordinates.
• Ensure that all sales and supply of medicinal products comply with legal requirements.
• Maintain records of drug receipt, storage and distribution as required by hospital and authorities.
• Represent the department in clinical committees and participate in pharmacy education and development programs.
