A leading hospital in Singapore is seeking a Patient Service Officer to manage front desk functions, ensuring excellent customer service and care for patients from admission to discharge. The role includes patient registration, financial counselling, and cashiering duties, requiring a diploma and relevant experience in the healthcare industry.
Job Scope
The Patient Service Officer will help manage front desk functions to provide excellence customer service and care to patients and their family in the process from admission to discharge at the hospital.
Roles and Responsibilities:
To register patients for outpatient, inpatient and/or surgical day care services. Prepare all relevant admission documents including Medisave and/or Medishield applications and private insurance, and explain guidelines to patients and/or next-of-kin where necessary.
To provide financial counselling on hospital’s bill size estimation based on estimate length of stay.
To perform procedure(s) ordering (when required), verify charges and generate bill for payment.
To perform cashiering duties including deposit, payment collection and terminal transactions. At end-shift closing, reconcile all receipts and generate cashier drawer reports. Accountable for daily collections and float, if any.
To submit Medisave, Medishield and/or insurance claims and follow up on payment.
To perform credit control management of outstanding balances and refund of credit balances.
To attend to telephone and/or walk-in enquiries and provide directions where necessary including all feedback and escalate the same to the senior staff on duty, if required.
To perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
5.5 days work week (Alt Sat), staggered timing
Recognised Diploma in any discipline or equivalent and/or 1-2 years of relevant experience in healthcare industry preferred. Appointment will commensurate with experience.
Familiar with basic medical terminology
Good command of English
Customer-oriented with a pleasant disposition and excellent interpersonal skills
Computer literate and able to work with numbers
