Job summary

GMP Technologies seeks a Senior Database Engineer to manage Oracle on Linux and SQL Server environments. You will drive end-to-end lifecycle activities, ensure high availability with RAC/Data Guard and Always On, and lead patching, upgrades, and security governance.

The role requires deep hands-on experience (8+ years), readiness for after-hours support, and a track record of database migrations and performance tuning in complex environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Oracle database patching and advanced administration, including RAC.
• Experience with Grid Infrastructure components like Clusterware, ASM, and Disk Group management.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server high availability (Always On) and Windows Clustering.
• Proven ability to migrate/upgrade databases across platforms and enforce security policies.
• Willingness to support critical operations outside business hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle management of Oracle Databases on Linux.
• Provide solutions for database issues and optimize performance for high availability.
• Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, backup/recovery, and patching/upgrades.
• Conduct root cause analysis, change/release management, and documentation.
• Maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments with Always On and Windows Clustering.
• Support audits, disaster recovery exercises, and incident response per standards.
