Job summary
Excelitas Technologies in Singapore is seeking a Principal Coating Engineer to lead optical coating design and development for NPI optics, focusing on laser applications. You will design coating stacks, select materials, and drive process development in collaboration with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and S&M.
You will also evaluate emerging technologies, oversee RFQ responses, and ensure readiness for Pre-FAT and related milestones, delivering robust SRFs and technical leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher in science/engineering with optics; Master's/PhD preferred.
- 5+ years in optical coating development and manufacturing (IBS, MS, PVD).
- Expert in thin-film deposition and coating characterization.
- Experience with OptiLayer and FilmStar design tools.
- Experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks for jig/fixture design.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize optical coating solutions for laser applications.
- Review RFQs and technical data packages.
- Develop products using IBS and MS technologies.
- Prepare SRFs and respond to technical constraints.
- Support S&M during customer visits and technical reviews.
- Lead phase-gate transfers to mass production.
- Provide training and guidance to production technicians.
