Job summary

A leading company in Singapore is seeking a Risk Management professional to enhance its operational risk policies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The candidate will also monitor key risk exposures and support the firm's business continuity planning. Job description

Responsibilities

  • Support the risk management function by assisting in the enhancement and maintenance of the company’s operational risk policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Monitor key risk exposures and emerging threats across departments, ensuring appropriate mitigation actions are implemented and communicated to senior stakeholders when risk levels change.
  • Coordinate and oversee regular risk assessments and track risk mitigation efforts using internal risk management tools.
  • Investigate operational incidents, complaints, and process lapses to determine root causes and ensure follow-up actions are implemented effectively.
  • Assist in managing technology and cybersecurity risks by working with relevant teams to ensure compliance with MAS regulations, conducting risk assessments, and addressing any identified control gaps.
  • Review and assess new products and outsourcing arrangements to ensure alignment with internal risk standards and regulatory expectations, including keeping the outsourcing register up to date.
  • Contribute to the firm’s business continuity planning (BCP) by helping to review recovery strategies, update continuity plans, and support simulation and industry-wide testing.
  • Promote risk awareness across the company through internal training and prepare regular risk reports covering indicators, losses, incidents, and self-assessment results for management and committee review.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in operational or enterprise risk within a financial institution.
  • Good understanding of MAS guidelines, particularly on operational, technology, and outsourcing risk, as well as familiarity with regulatory reporting standards.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess risks, review internal controls, and propose practical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with confidence in working with cross-functional teams and presenting risk findings to management.
