As a Senior Network Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's network infrastructure. You will ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth technical understanding and knowledge of SD-WAN infrastructure
- In-depth technical understanding and knowledge of data network routing and switching
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools
- Good knowledge of Voice infrastructure and configurations
- Network Design and Implementation: Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN) and configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
- Network Maintenance:
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses. Schedule upgrades and collaborate with network architects on network optimization.
- Perform setup and/or upgrade of network firmware for network devices (e.g., switches, router & firewall)
- Evaluating network performance data regarding speed, connectivity and disaster recovery
- Security: Implement security measures and maintain firewalls and other security devices to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot network issues and perform network recovery and backup procedures. Provide Level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Documentation: Maintain complete documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members, including network architects and engineers, to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and solutions.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior network staff and other IT personnel.
- Determining company needs and coordinating the development and maintenance of network infrastructures with the IT team
Familiar with products but not limited to from Juniper, F5, Riverbed, Cisco Unified Communications and Switches, MS Teams & HP
Minimum Level of Education and Experience Required
- Education: Preferred Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCDP) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in network administration or a related field.
