Job summary

F5 Networks Australia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable network services across global data centers, cloud platforms, and the IP backbone.

You will own network reliability, performance, automation, and incident resolution, collaborating with Architecture, Security, Compliance, Build, and Operations teams to deliver reliable connectivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years of network engineering experience in multi-region/global routing environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise with BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with JunOS and Juniper MX/QFX/SRX platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of F5 BIG-IP architecture and security features.
• Strong troubleshooting across routing, switching, TCP/IP, latency, and QoS.
• Hands-on experience with hybrid/cloud networking in AWS/Azure/GCP.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, build, and operate network solutions across data centers, cloud, and IP backbone.
• Optimize global backbone routing and Layer 3 architectures using BGP/OSPF and traffic engineering.
• Implement secure segmentation and boundary controls to meet security requirements.
• Deliver hybrid and cloud-native connectivity across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop network automation using Python, Ansible/AWX, and Git-driven CI/CD workflows.
• Own day-to-day network availability and performance with monitoring and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, TCP/IP issues; lead major incidents as needed.
• Translate requirements into actionable network designs with clear timelines.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and post-incident learning.
