Job summary

Motional is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the ML Infrastructure: Dev Enablement Team. You will help build a frictionless development environment for ML researchers and engineers, enabling rapid innovation in autonomous driving.

You will design multi-cloud setups to improve GPU availability, optimize distributed training, and develop Agentic AI tooling that automates ML workflows. You’ll mentor juniors and drive best practices in reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with distributed systems background.
• Strong skills in Python/Go/C++ and cloud platforms like AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Clear written and oral communication; ownership of infra components.

Responsibilities

• Architect multi-cloud solutions to boost GPU availability and resilience.
• Profile and optimize distributed ML training tasks (PyTorch/DDP).
• Develop Agentic AI tools to automate ML workflows.
• Scale core ML infrastructure using Kubernetes for high-scale distributed systems.
• Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to meet complex infra needs.
• Promote software engineering excellence, reliability, and code quality.
