MCI CAREER SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist (Microbiology) to join its Laboratory Medicine team in Singapore.

The role covers diagnostic microbiology, lab automation, quality assurance and staff development, requiring hands-on microbiology expertise and leadership in a fast-paced clinical setting. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant life science field, strong bacteriology and antimicrobial susceptibility testing experience, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or equivalent.
Hands-on experience in a clinical diagnostic microbiology lab.
Strong knowledge of microbiology techniques and processes.
Experience in bacteriology and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
Exposure to molecular microbiology, mycology and/or parasitology is advantageous.
Experience with laboratory automation and LIS is advantageous.
Understanding of QA/QC and regulatory requirements.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; able to train staff.
Able to work independently and in a team; rostered shifts may apply.

Responsibilities

Perform bench work across bacteriology, mycology, parasitology and molecular microbiology.
Conduct antimicrobial susceptibility testing and interpret results.
Review and investigate analytical, technical and quality issues.
Ensure accurate reporting via the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Troubleshoot testing and operations to maintain accuracy.
Support automation implementation and operation in the lab.
Maintain SOPs, inventory and records; participate in QA/QC and EQAS.
Provide training and guidance to junior staff; support CPD.
