Job Summary:

Innovation Station is seeking a Senior Mechanical Robotics Engineer to lead the design and development of cutting-edge robotic systems. In this role, you will be at the forefront of mechanical innovation, creating and simulating high-performance components that meet rigorous engineering standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical and software solutions, leveraging your expertise to drive projects from proof-of-concept (POC) through to minimum viable product (MVP) and pre-series. Your proficiency in CAD tools and 3D printing will be instrumental in rapid prototyping and efficient manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and development of robotic systems, from concept to MVP and pre-series phases.
  • Develop detailed CAD models and perform simulations of robotic components and assemblies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze performance data to optimize mechanical designs.
  • Prepare and execute Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), and support development using V-cycle or agile methodologies.
  • Define and implement testing, validation & verification (V&V) strategies, including reporting and documentation.
  • Collaborate with software and electronics teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Lead prototyping and manufacturing efforts using 3D printing and other rapid fabrication technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on robotics or automation.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with robotic simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo, V-REP).
  • Strong foundation in mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies and additive manufacturing.
  • Certification in robotics or related disciplines is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced mechanical design and simulation expertise.
  • Proficient in robotic system simulations and multi-body dynamics.
  • Deep knowledge of materials, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
  • Proven track record in testing methodologies, automation, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to transition POC to MVP and support industrialization handover.
