Job summary

apar technologies pte. ltd. seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead ACMV/HVAC, fire protection and hydraulic/plumbing systems across large-scale building projects.

You will coordinate with architecture, structures, electrical and BIM teams, review technical submissions and guide junior engineers. The role requires a 6+ year track record in mechanical design within consultancy environments, strong knowledge of codes, and hands-on BIM/software capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in consultancy.
• Strong hands-on experience in ACMV/HVAC, fire protection and hydraulic/plumbing services.
• Experience on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in rail, healthcare, commercial, institutional, industrial or data centre projects is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of local authority requirements, codes of practice and international standards.
• Experience reviewing mechanical calculations, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Hands-on with engineering design software and BIM platforms.
• Good understanding of MEP construction methods, cost considerations and site constraints.
• Experience supervising or mentoring engineers, designers and drafting teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of ACMV/HVAC, fire protection, hydraulic/plumbing and sanitary systems.
• Manage mechanical design deliverables from concept and detailed design through tender and construction stages.
• Prepare, review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, schedules and technical submissions.
• Ensure designs comply with project requirements, authority regulations, relevant codes, standards and company procedures.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, civil, BIM and other engineering disciplines.
• Identify design risks, technical issues and coordination conflicts and develop practical solutions.
• Lead technical meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Review and provide technical guidance on the work of mechanical engineers, designers and drafting teams.
• Support tender clarifications, technical evaluations, construction-stage design matters and value engineering.
• Monitor project deliverables, timelines, design changes, scope requirements and cost considerations.
