Job description

  • Location: Willingness to travel between Tampines and Woodland

  • Working Hours: 5.5 days per week (Mon to Fri: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Sat: 8:00 AM –12:30 PM)

  • Willingness to commit to extended hours

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee mechanical designs, schematics, and layouts for critical systems such as HVAC, ultra-pure water (UPW), cleanroom ventilation, process piping, and gas distribution.

  • Ensure thermal management, vibration control, and contamination prevention in critical semiconductor environments.

  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and material selection to meet high-precision industry requirements.

  • Oversee the installation of pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, cooling towers, and other mechanical systems.

  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and process engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical infrastructure.

  • Ensure that cleanroom and contamination control protocols are maintained during installation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues during commissioning and start-up.

  • Work with vendors and contractors to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to project milestones.

  • Ensure all mechanical systems comply with Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, and NEA (National Environment Agency) standards.

  • Ensure mechanical safety measures, including gas leak detection, fire suppression, and emergency shutdown systems.

  • Develop and review mechanical designs, schematics, and layouts for critical systems such as HVAC, ultra-pure water (UPW), cleanroom ventilation, process piping, and gas distribution.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • Min 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering for semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, or industrial facilities.

  • Strong background in HVAC, process piping, ultrapure water (UPW), and gas distribution systems.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or other mechanical design software.

  • Knowledge of SEMI standards, ASHRAE cleanroom guidelines, and ISO 14644.

  • Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and structural integrity of mechanical systems.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.

  • Good communication, reading, and writing skills in both English and Chinese to liaise with Chinese associate

  • Candidates with strong experience will be considered for a higher-level position, with salary adjusted accordingly.
