Job description

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical and maintenance support to the terminal operation teams, focusing on equipment reliability, compliance, spares inventory, preventive and predictive maintenance, and mechanical procedures for equipment.
  • Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, commissioning, and replacement of mechanical static equipment and piping systems.
  • Manage in-house contractors and equipment vendors to execute mechanical work safely and ensure gas supply reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards, maintaining safe, fit-for-purpose, maintainable, and reliable mechanical systems, including marine loading arms, pumps, pressure vessels, and safety devices.
  • Oversee statutory equipment inspections and servicing, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and recommend solutions, utilizing vibration, RT, UT, oil analysis, etc., as part of predictive maintenance.
  • Maintain records on static and rotating equipment, including operating hours, shutdown events, and maintenance history, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Lead technical discussions, manage project schedules and costs, and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors for equipment lifecycle and improvement projects, following the SLNG Management of Change process.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including government agencies, regarding approvals and shutdown risks affecting gas send-out.
  • Participate in RCA, RBI, HAZID, HAZOP, and model review studies related to mechanical packages and resolve issues.
  • Contribute to emergency response plans and be prepared to assume specific roles during emergencies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical disciplines.
  • Professional accreditation or membership in engineering bodies is advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in maintenance of plant equipment, including rotating and static machinery, preferably in oil or petrochemical industries.
  • Knowledge of pipeline inspection, LNG/natural gas, or hydrocarbon industries is a plus.
  • Technical experience with maintenance of mechanical systems such as compressors, pumps, pressure vessels, hydraulic components, and piping.
  • Familiarity with local codes, regulations, standards, and inspection schedules; certifications like API or vibration analysis are preferred.
  • Personal attributes include teamwork, good listening skills, self-motivation, adaptability, and willingness to take on new challenges.

PROFILE OVERVIEW

This role is part of the Mechanical team supporting LNG Terminal operations and projects, ensuring safe and reliable operation and maintenance of terminal assets from a mechanical perspective. The incumbent oversees mechanical design elements of new and existing equipment, ensuring mechanical integrity of the terminal.
