Job description

Secretlab is an international gaming chair brand seating over 3 million users worldwide, with our key markets in the United States, Europe and Singapore, where we are headquartered.

You will be a valued member in our award-winning Product team, responsible for creating products for consumers across over 60 countries. In this dynamic role, you will innovate mechanical designs while balancing feasibility for manufacturing, seeing our products from R&D to mass production.

Our Product team is involved with all Secretlab’s industry-leading designs, including collaborative efforts with world-renowned brands such as Game of Thrones, Batman, Cloud9, Team Secret, as well as international esports organisers such as Riot Games for their League of Legends global tournaments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of mechanical research and development from concepts through to mass production.
  • Design innovative and robust mechanisms to achieve the desired outcome of product requirements.
  • Translating product specifications into designs optimized for DFM and DFA.
  • Creating 3D designs in CAD and 2D drawings according to the Secretlab standard.
  • Perform hands on Prototyping to create proof of concept for functional and aesthetic validation.
  • Performing risk mitigation actions like DFMEA, Design of Experiment, Finite Element Analysis, GD&T and tolerance stacking.
  • Prepare administrative works and documentation for any design deliverables needed in the projects.
  • A Go-To-Person to troubleshoot any design issue across projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in engineering and design works for consumer hardware products in a fast paced environment.
  • High level of proficiency in creating 3D CAD and 2D drawings.
  • Ability to use design tools such as DFMEA, DoE, FEA, GD&T and tolerance stack in their daily work to verify their design.
  • Experience working with various materials like plastic, metal, rubber, and foam, as well as understanding their manufacturing methods/limitations.
  • Ability to clearly present ideas to stakeholders using various methods.
  • Ability to communicate with vendors in design discussions.
  • Having an open-mind toward design approach and feedback.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (in order to liaise with Mandarin speaking suppliers).
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
