Qualifications

NTC 2 or 3 in Machining or equivalent (technical qualification).
Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing with emphasis on sheet metal, structural weldment, or machining.
Minimum 3 years of experience in blueprint and machining.
Strong knowledge and network in fabrication industries.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
Proficient in office software.

Responsibilities

Set sourcing strategy and manage mechanical commodities (sheet metal, weldment, machining, secondary process, surface treatment).
Advise on process, technology, material, machine and cost structures.
Provide cost estimates and supplier quotes during RFQ for NPI/SIG.
Create and maintain BP in ERP systems.
Evaluate supplier performance on quality, price, delivery and service for annual spend awards.
Manage supplier continuity of supply and commercial support improvements.
Contract management with vendors (supply agreements, risk buy, etc.).
Influence suppliers for customer OTD after escalations from Purchasing.
Negotiate price, lead-time and on-time delivery with suppliers.
Develop and qualify new suppliers for customized automation projects and contract manufacturing.
Drive FA qualification and control run success; ensure documentation.
Provide DFX solutions to customers and internal teams for cost effectiveness.
Perform post-mortem on cost performance vs quotes.
Maintain KPIs and present to management.
Lead in-house team to resolve quality and delivery escalations with suppliers.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Summary of the Job: (Primary function of the job)

Sourcing and vendor management to ensure approved vendors meet our delivery, quality and cost requirements

Job Responsibilities:

Set sourcing strategy and manage mechanical commodities such as sheet metal, structural weldment, machining, secondary process and surface treatment.
Advise and provide solutions in the area of process, technology, material, machine and equipment and cost structure
Provide cost estimates and competitive supplier quotes and submit on time to NPI and SIG during RFQ phase
New BP creation and maintenance in ERP.
Management in Supplier performance evaluation on quality, price, delivery & Services for yearly spend award.
Supplier Management in Commercial support improvement & Continuity of supply.
Contract Management with Vendors like Supply Agreement, Risk Buy Agreement, etc
To influence Supplier for Customer OTD support upon receipt of escalation from Purchasing.
Negotiate, ensure and improve suppliers' price competitiveness, lead-time and on time delivery
Develop & drive qualification of new suppliers to meet requirement for customized automation projects and contract manufacturing
Responsible for driving FA qualification and control run success. Ensure all necessary documents are in place
Provide DFX solutions to customers and internal cross functional teams, for cost effectiveness
Perform post mortem on cost performance of actual vs quoted
Maintain KPIs and present to the management
Manage and control supplier process to meet drawing standard. Lead inhouse team to resolve quality and delivery escalations with suppliers

Job Requirements:

NTC 2 or 3 In Machining or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of working experience in manufacturing company/ companies of at least one of the commodities - sheet metal, structural weldment, machining
Minimum 3 years of working experience in blueprint and machining
Strong knowledge, experience and network in the related fabrication industries
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self-starter with ability to carry out tasks with minimum supervision
Working knowledge of office software
