Job summary

direct search asia pte. ltd. seeks an experienced marine surveyor to inspect vessels and marine structures, ensuring compliance with SOLAS, Load Line, Tonnage, and MARPOL standards.

You will prepare precise reports and provide technical guidance on inspections and audits for clients. Minimum 5 years in marine surveying or ship classification is required, with LNG or seagoing LNG vessel experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Technology, or a related maritime discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marine surveying, ship classification, vessel inspection, or statutory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of classification rules and statutory requirements (SOLAS, Load Line, Tonnage, Cargo Gear, MARPOL).

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine surveys of classed vessels and marine structures to verify compliance.
• Provide quotations and technical consultation for classification, inspection, and audit services.
• Prepare accurate, timely reports following inspections and audits.
• Liaise with clients to address technical issues and resolve matters within expertise.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate surveying activities while monitoring quality of services.
• Provide leadership and training to junior personnel.
• Promote the organisation’s services to clients and prospects.
• Coordinate with headquarters to address client requirements.
