Job Description
Carry out maintenance and repairs on the pontoon to assist the Marina Maintenance Team:
- Follow the maintenance schedule prepared by the Marina Supervisor for the tightening of all nuts and bolts in the marina.
- Follow the maintenance schedule planned by the Marina Supervisor for all tests and cleaning of the service pedestals.
Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained and in serviceable condition at all times:
- Account for tools weekly.
- Maintain and run tools with engines.
Ensuring all MKB’s vessels are maintained:
- Wash boats regularly – Ensure free of barnacle growth.
- Monitor engine hours to follow up on engine servicing.
- Ensure boats are in standby seaworthy conditions and ready to be activated anytime.
- Check standard safety equipment onboard for expiry dates.
Provide on-time assistance to all owners/skippers of vessels when required or requested:
- Buggy services.
- Rescue.
- Berthing/casting off assistance.
- Fueling assistance.
- Waste pump-out assistance.
- Meter readings.
Ensure all life-saving equipment is well maintained and ready for use:
- Lifejackets in serviceable condition.
- Ropes in seaworthy condition.
- Robin pumps.
- Life rings.
Ensure all fire fighting equipment is in good working condition:
- Check expiry dates on all fire extinguishers on the pontoon.
- Run fire carts engine and foam.
- Run boat fire engines.
Ensure all electrical and water meters are in good condition:
- Assist the Marina Supervisor with monthly closing.
- Assist the Marina Supervisor with opening and closing readings.
Ensure the pontoons are clean and free of hazardous material/equipment:
- Perform dock-walks regularly.
- Clear debris.
Proper knowledge of clearance procedures:
- Must be familiar with the Marina Boat entrance and clearing SOPs.
Securing and guiding vessels into the allocated berthing area.
Prevention of pollution in the marina:
- Knowledge to neutralize oil sheen/spills.
- Use the right tools provided for the mentioned scope above.
Assist the Marina Supervisor in rescue/towing.
Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Marina Supervisor and lead the team during the absence of the supervisor.
Monthly submission of reports to the Supervisor for MKB asset and equipment, pontoon condition, etc.
Conduct daily toolbox meetings with the marina crew and maintain a monthly roster.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum GCE ‘O’ level or equivalent.
- Pleasant personality and good service attitude.
- Must be able to swim.
- Able to work shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- Computer literate (basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Possess a Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License (PPCDL) is compulsory.
