Job Scope

As a Senior Manager, Trade - the individual will be involved in ensuring effective operations, supervising the performance of the company's shipping services, and managing the profitability of the trade lanes for the organisation through high levels of coordination with internal and external stakeholders and accountability for the overall shipping services performance.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure business operations across trade channels are running efficiently and that capacity management and service delivery are at its optimum.
  • Keep an eye on shipping operations\' KPIs and suggest changes as needed.
  • Ensure strategic business goals such as cost effectiveness and profitability are met through assessment of shipping routes, capacity and pricing.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration and engagement across various departments to meet organizational objectives.
  • Handle negotiation and partnership management with shipping lines, port authorities, and other related entities.
  • Determine new prospects or opportunities for market expansion and growth in the shipping sector.
  • Work with trade and commercial teams to enhance current trade lanes and create new service offerings.
  • Track and analyze market trends to predict changes and modify strategies accordingly.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelors Degree in Maritime, Business or any related discipline is a plus.
  • More than 10 years of experience in the shipping industry with at least 3 years of background in a managerial position is a plus.
  • Experience in trade management, capacity management, pricing and commercial function is a plus.
  • Individuals with great communication and stakeholder management skill is a plus.
  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen is advantageous.
