Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Terminal Procurement plays a vital role in ensuring the company's terminal operations are cost-effective, sustainable, and compliant, while managing risks and fostering strong vendor relationships. You will execute effective procurement strategies to negotiate better rates and terms with marine and terminal vendors, driving cost reductions and operational improvements. Additionally, you will identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure procurement practices align with sustainability and corporate social responsibility objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for terminals, including negotiations with global terminal operators.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and industry trends.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand network and service requirements.
  • Supplier and Risk Management
  • Review vendor performance regularly to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Ensure resources are adequately allocated for vessel operations at terminals.
  • Identify inefficiencies and assess operational risks related to vendors.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies, including local regulations to mitigate risks.
  • Sustainability Procurement
  • Align procurement practices with sustainability policies to meet scorecard targets.
  • Support process improvements that incorporate sustainable practices.
  • Cost Efficiency
  • Regularly review cost focus areas and collaborate with local operations to identify initiatives.
  • Reduce non-essential costs through streamlining and vendor partnerships.
  • Drive system/process alignment and behavioral change to standardize costs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in shipping, logistics, or related field from a recognized institution.
  • At least 6 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Good knowledge of the maritime industry; experience in terminals is a plus.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
