This role will report into the APAC Service Operations Leader

The incumbent will be responsible for project management the Technical Service Centre in Singapore in the first 6-12 months.

After which the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and control of the technical service centre in Singapore across franchises to enable Smith & Nephew to provide on-going after technical service and establish long term relationships with customers alongside our equipment. Your team will ensure that departmental KPI’s and alignment with QARA requirements are never compromised.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensuring a successful launch of the new service center in Singapore with the relevant capabilities to support the business
  • Liaising with key stakeholders, vendors the facility set up and renovations.
  • Setting up processes and workflow in the service center for repair, maintenance and operations including also work with on the financial and IT flows
  • Manages Scope and Power technical personnel ensuring consistency in service delivery.
  • Ensures consistent quality repairs on instruments within a specific turn-around time.
  • Follows all company standard operating procedures and manage a service center which is compliant to local requirements and international standards such as ISO 13485, FDA and GxP
  • Works with technicians and advocates to coordinate the scheduling of repair work in order to maximize their productivity.
  • Identify, develop and report monthly KPI’s (key performance indicators) related to meeting customer expectations, technician productivity and other identified KPI to support operational execution.
  • Overseas, and develops inventory management for assigned area.
  • Supports growth for the services as well as franchise businesses.
  • Performs quality control process checks to ensure a high standard of quality.

  • Collaborate with Global Service/APAC as well as franchise teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Drive operational efficiency improvements and lean concepts adoption in the team.
  • This position requires the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids. In compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, S+N will provide a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Determines organizational objectives, interprets company policy, and delegates assignments to appropriate individuals as required

What will you need to be successful?

Success in the role will require a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a deep understanding of both the business and service-providing sides of an organization. Successful candidates would need the following:

  • Requires 2-4 years of prior experience with manufacturing or repairing of medical devices. Team leadership and project management experience would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize data for effective decision making.
  • Good knowledge of ISO13485 and FDA requirements as well as GxP knowledge and experience
  • Experienced working in a Matrix Organization
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and establish new processes & procedures.
