Job description

Reporting to the Sr Director, Finance - APAC GFS, this position will lead the Record to Report (RTR) team in managing and delivering RTR services across the Asian region, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand.

The primary customers for these processes are the Finance Directors of the countries within the AsiaPac Region, along with the broader finance team and business stakeholders.

Position Specific Job Requirements:

  1. Provide functional leadership and champion the GFS Visions
  2. Contribute to developing the GFS culture to achieve efficiency and effectiveness targets
  3. Establish credibility with the market finance team and build strong stakeholder relationships
  4. Recruit, retain, motivate, manage performance, and develop staff to operate RTR processes
  5. Manage, train, and guide the RTR team and market users
  6. Oversee the process to ensure KPI achievement, efficiency, and streamlining
  7. Recommend process and policy changes to leverage technology for efficiencies
  8. Collaborate with process specialists and in-country staff to improve processes
  9. Ensure compliance with service partnership agreements and KPIs
  10. Manage the accounting close and financial reporting for responsible markets
  11. Review and approve transactions and reconciliations
  12. Maintain ledger integrity and ensure compliance with standards and regulations
  13. Develop and assess internal controls related to accounting and reporting systems
  14. Coordinate the transition of additional activities into the RTR team
  15. Manage Balance Sheet Reviews with relevant stakeholders
  16. Interact effectively with non-financial personnel and auditors

Knowledge, Experience, and Competencies:

  1. Over 10 years of relevant experience in a multinational environment, especially in financial shared services
  2. Knowledge of the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including regulations and compliance, is advantageous
  3. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or an MBA
  4. Preferred ACA/ACCA/CPA qualification; Big 4 or similar practice background is a plus
  5. People management experience is preferred
  6. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles
  7. Experience with external/internal audits and SOX compliance is critical
  8. Working knowledge of Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP systems
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  10. Self-motivated, proactive, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  11. High integrity, teamwork, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  12. Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin; Japanese and Korean are a plus
