A leading company in the food manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Manager – QA & QC to lead quality assurance and control operations. This role involves ensuring compliance with FSSC 22000 standards, managing audits, and developing quality systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food safety management and a strong leadership background to foster a high-performing quality culture.
The Senior Manager – QA & QC is responsible for leading the overall quality strategy, ensuring compliance with FSSC 22000 standards, and overseeing quality control operations across the central kitchen and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance – FSSC 22000 & Regulatory Compliance
Serve as the Management Representative for the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System.
Lead internal and external audits; ensure timely closure of non-conformities.
Maintain and continuously improve the FSMS (Food Safety Management System), including PRPs, OPRPs, HACCP, and traceability systems.
Develop and update quality manuals, SOPs, and food safety documentation in compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
Ensure compliance with local food laws, customer standards, and international regulations.
Lead cross-functional Food Safety & Quality review meetings and ensure alignment across departments.
2. Quality Control Management
Oversee the entire QC function including incoming material inspection, in-process control, finished product verification, and environmental monitoring.
Supervise scheduling and execution of in-house testing, post-production checks, and trend analyses.
Review and approve laboratory results (internal and external) and ensure timely corrective/preventive actions.
Ensure effective complaint handling, root cause investigations, and closure of corrective actions with outlet and OEM stakeholders.
Ensure proper coordination with third-party vendors (laboratories, pest control, chemical suppliers, calibration services).
3. Supplier & Product Quality Governance
Oversee supplier audit and assessment programs.
Support and approve quality and food safety documentation for new product launches (including for OEM and retail outlets).
Ensure quality and safety requirements are embedded from product development to commercialization.
4. People Development & Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the QA and QC teams, building a high-performing quality culture.
Develop training plans and conduct or coordinate training on GMP, GHP, FSSC, and CCP management.
Promote cross-functional collaboration to embed a proactive approach to quality and food safety.
5. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
Drive root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) for recurring issues.
Lead quality and food safety risk assessments for equipment changes, process modifications, and new product introductions.
Monitor KPIs for quality and food safety; initiate strategic improvements based on data and trends.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline; Advanced qualifications are a plus.
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in QA/QC roles within food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior leadership capacity.
Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, GHP, and food safety laws.
Experienced in leading audits, investigations, and cross-functional teams.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
