JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description:
- Team Management
- A high-impact performer, able to manage a team of individuals and team contributors.
- Excellent understanding of Asia, South Asia, and the APAC Region, with 10 to 15 years of industry experience.
- Product Management / Strategic Partnerships
- Lead new business opportunities in the subsea arena with potential strategic partners and customers.
- Develop budgets and financial models for international submarine cable systems.
- Collaborate with tax advisors to create tax-efficient holding structures for the product.
- Work with legal teams to negotiate MOUs, binding term sheets, and definitive agreements.
- Review agreements and contracts, and negotiate with partners and customers.
- Manage third-party consultants for relevant work areas.
- Analyze emerging markets and feasibility studies for key markets.
- Provide clear, objective analysis and recommendations for investments.
- Prepare business cases and obtain approvals from internal stakeholders.
- Conduct market research for new projects.
- Customer Management
- Assist sales team in developing compelling business propositions.
- Negotiate MOUs, binding term sheets, and agreements with legal support.
- Internal Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate reporting to KL, Connectivity, Keppel Asia Infrastructure Fund (KAIF), and other BU units.
- Collaborate with Keppel RC on Red Team engagement and with Corporate Communications on SGX/press releases.
- Support fund-raising activities, due diligence, and documentation for Keppel FM&I, KAIF, etc.
- Coordinate with Corporate Finance on debt-raising activities.
- Ensure risk compliance and conduct due diligence on suppliers, vendors, and partners.
- Facilitate internal audits related to your area.
- Commercial
- Understand relevant business trends and the competitive fiber cable landscape.
- Manage product development to enable sales growth in the ICT industry.
- Lead contract negotiations with legal support.
- Influence senior management to secure new business opportunities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Skills & Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of strategic partnerships experience in telecommunications.
- Proven success in selling wholesale capacity, such as subsea cable dark fiber pairs.
- Knowledge of telecom technology including IT, IP Transit, IX, terrestrial and subsea networks.
- Understanding of the structure and demands of Cloud, Telco, Broadband, Network, OTT, and Data Center operators.
- Experience working in Asia and the APAC region over the last 20 years.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to present succinctly at board meetings.
- Fluent in Mandarin is an advantage for liaising with Mandarin-speaking counterparts.
- Enterprising, energetic, disciplined, and process-driven with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to travel overseas, including the USA and Asia Pacific.
- Uphold honesty and integrity, driven to meet targets with a can-do attitude.
