About Role

The Senior Manager, Product Development & Improvement, spearheads three core areas: new product development, product maintenance, and product improvement. This pivotal role harmonizes these aspects, ensuring alignment with market needs, operational efficiency, and quality standards. Success lies in innovating new products, sustaining existing ones, and consistently enhancing product performance.

Responsibilities encompass overseeing and guiding the product development lifecycle, strategically balancing market insights with production capabilities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity, safety, and continuous enhancement, meticulously documenting processes, and improvements.

This position involves leadership in fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and seamless integration between new developments, ongoing maintenance, and targeted improvements.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead cross-functional teams in new product development, focusing on ideation, feasibility, costing, prototyping, and successful market implementation.

  • Oversee product maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, regulatory compliance, and addressing lifecycle management.

  • Drive product improvement initiatives, leveraging insights and technology to enhance product performance, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Provide technical expertise to support new blends, processes, vendors, and suppliers, documenting findings and analyzing reports for improvement opportunities.

  • Identify and address complexities and gaps in processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align development initiatives with regulatory and market demands.

  • Update senior management on progress in new product launches, maintenance efforts, and improvement projects, managing departmental budgets and resource allocation.

  • Lead efforts to optimize processes, fostering technical excellence and commitment to quality across all product-related activities.

Qualifications

  • Master/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, project management or related discipline

  • Applicants should ideally possess 15 years of professional experience, with at least 8 years of experience in relevant industry, background in process / business / engineering or product/process development/Projects Management/Life Science industry within product development

  • Knowledge across the whole process of projects management from developing products (conceptual phase) to implementation and production

  • Project Management, Quality Focus, Database Design, analysing information etc.

  • Able to multi-task, meet deadlines with demonstrated ability to drive improvement

  • Demonstrated strong ability to lead and drive meeting / discussion, communicate issues, and resolve conflicts within cross functional teams

  • Demonstrates proven track record of management, Technical, Product and Process Expertise, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Able to drive collaborative efforts cross-functionally with excellent project management, time management, team collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Able to work and thrive in an environment of uncertainty and quickly adapt to change

  • Excellent level of liaison skills and ability to meet deadlines and targets.
