Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, in Singapore seeks an experienced Operations leader to plan and direct the factory's value streams, drive LEAN initiatives, and ensure on-time delivery. The role requires strong engineering background and a track record of managing 120+ staff, with focus on EH&S and quality performance.

Lead cross-functional teams, oversee budgets, productivity, and automation projects, and push continuous improvement to meet customer demands in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant aerospace/manufacturing experience.
  • Proven people-management of large teams (>120).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct facility value streams to meet quality and on-time delivery.
  • Implement LEAN production systems aligning with facility goals.
  • Coordinate with departments on customer requirements and material support.
  • Meet EH&S, quality, financial, productivity, and delivery KPIs.
  • Establish and manage production budgets, cost control, and labor efficiency.
  • Coach staff, manage performance, and develop talent.
  • Build capabilities through training and experience-based learning.
  • Lead Lean Transformation and CORE culture initiatives.
  • Collaborate on Industry 4.0 initiatives across the site.
  • Partner on new product introductions with stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, organize and direct the facility’s product value streams to meet and exceed customer expectations in Quality and On-Time Delivery (OTD).
  • Implement LEAN production systems and processes that align with the Manufacturing Facility’s vision and objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory airworthiness and EH&S requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments on matters such as customer requirements and material support to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop and achieve on-time delivery.
  • Meet key performance metrics, including EH&S, Quality, Financial, Productivity, Cost and Delivery commitments.
  • Establish and execute production budgets, cost-control management, labor efficiency, manpower deployment and productivity measurement, equipment capacity utilization and investment, and inventory cost plans.
  • Coach, counsel and appraise staff performance, manage disciplinary matters, identify workforce needs and develop talent.
  • Build employees’ capabilities through technical-skills competency training and experience-based learning.
  • Lead the site’s Lean Transformation journey, drive the CORE culture and support automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate on all Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to implement new product introductions.
  • Drive behaviors through continuous improvement to strengthen a sustainable culture of Customer Satisfaction, EH&S, Quality, Employee Engagement and Learning.
Qualifications You Must Have

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • People-management experience leading an Operations team of more than 120 employees, including Cell Leaders and Manufacturing Technicians.
  • Strong engineering and technical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success working in a high-energy, fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proactive team player with strong leadership qualities, drive and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Forward-thinking and capable of ensuring that the entire unit remains customer-focused and responsive to the demands of a challenging manufacturing environment.
Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience leading Lean Transformation and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Experience driving the CORE culture within a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Experience supporting or implementing new product introductions.
  • Strong experience in production budgeting, cost control, labor productivity and capacity planning.
