About Department and Purpose of the Position

The (Senior) Manager of Philanthropy & Partnerships at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) is responsible for driving fundraising efforts that support NCIS’s mission of advancing cancer care, research, and patient support. This role involves the management of major gift donors, corporate partnerships, and philanthropic initiatives. The Philanthropy Manager will work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the financial sustainability of NCIS’s key projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Strategy Development

  • Design and implement a strategic plan to engage donors and raise funds through major gifts, corporate partnerships, and community philanthropy.
  • Set and monitor annual fundraising goals, ensuring alignment with NCIS’s organizational priorities and long-term plans.

Donor Engagement and Relationship Building

  • Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective major donors, including high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Develop donor engagement strategies to foster long-term partnerships, ensuring their philanthropic interests align with NCIS’s mission.
  • Lead donor outreach, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition activities.

Major Gifts Program

  • Identify, research, and engage potential major donors to support NCIS’s research initiatives, patient care services, and educational programs.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and reports to demonstrate the impact of donations on NCIS’s cancer programs.

Event Planning and Execution

  • Lead the planning and execution of key fundraising events, such as charity galas, donor appreciation events, and special campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful event logistics and donor engagement.

Grant Writing and Reporting

  • Write and submit high-quality grant applications for foundation and corporate funding opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors, highlighting how their contributions have impacted NCIS’s programs.
  • Work closely with NCIS’s leadership, clinicians, and researchers to identify funding needs and develop targeted fundraising strategies.
  • Partner with the Communications and Marketing teams to create materials that effectively communicate NCIS’s mission and funding needs.

Regulatory Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure all fundraising activities are in compliance with relevant legal and ethical standards.
  • Provide regular reports to the NUHS Development Office and NCIS Management on fundraising progress, donor relationships, and pipeline generation.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, or corporate partnerships, preferably within the healthcare or nonprofit sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully building and managing large-scale partnerships and securing major philanthropic gifts.
  • Strong understanding of brand development and market expansion strategies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing large, cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare sector, particularly cancer care, is a plus.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to create and execute a long-term vision for NCIS’s brand ecosystem and philanthropic efforts.
  • Partnership Building: Skilled in cultivating relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing complex projects, and achieving impactful results.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders and convey the NCIS mission.
  • Results-Oriented: Ability to drive results through a data-driven approach, focusing on measurable outcomes and growth.
