What The Role Is
The Resilience and Engagement Division (RED) helps build a strong society by strengthening social capital, and inspiring and empowering individuals to contribute to the common good. We do this through three pillars of work: fostering a strong and inclusive sense of national identity; nurturing an active citizenry, and developing the public service’s capabilities to engage and partner citizens.

You will be part of the SG Cares Office’s Policy & Planning team that reviews and formulates policies, strategies and plans to promote and strengthen volunteerism and philanthropy in Singapore.
Specifically, our team pulls together data to understand the state of giving in Singapore and to inform our strategies and policies. We engage and work with a wide range of stakeholders – government agencies, non-profit entities such as the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre and the Community Foundation of Singapore, and other community partners – to design, implement and evaluate these policies and plans.
Your Responsibilities Include
- Developing an understanding of, and monitoring and analysing what drives giving by individuals and organisations in Singapore.
- Identifying opportunity areas to grow volunteerism and philanthropy in Singapore, and working with government agencies to review existing policies and programmes, or develop new ones.
- Designing our strategic communications to shape perceptions and behaviours on giving.
- Enlisting and engaging non-government stakeholders to partner the Government, and each other, to drive our agenda on building a caring and inclusive society.
- Strategic planning and co-ordination of whole-of-government platforms that drive the agenda on building a caring and inclusive society, such as the SG Cares Steering Committee.
