Overview

What the role is: Are you passionate about influencing employment law and policy to create a fair and progressive work environment? We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help us drive impactful changes across key employment legislation, including the Employment Act, Employment Claims Act, Industrial Relations Act and the upcoming Workplace Fairness Act.

Responsibilities
  • Review, enhance, and develop operational policies and frameworks related to enforcement and dispute management, ensuring seamless implementation in line with policy intent while raising employment standards.
  • Analyze and assess diverse employment cases (e.g., sick leave, overtime pay, notice period), applying a deep understanding of law and policy to ensure fair resolutions that reflect the true intent of the legislation.
  • Support key tripartite platforms and committees by collaborating with the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) to develop new policies and review tripartite positions.
  • Partner with the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) to build progressive workplaces and with the Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) to resolve employment disputes amicably.
  • Draft impactful public communications, including replies to parliamentary questions, media queries, and concerns from the public, while helping to shape the narrative on employment law and policy.
