Job summary

Airwallex, a global payments and treasury platform, seeks a Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to build and lead the Tax Product team from Singapore. You will report to the Global Head of Tax and collaborate with product and engineering to scale indirect tax capabilities.

The role emphasizes strategic tax positions, multi-region oversight, and building a high-impact team across time zones. This is a senior, hands-on leadership opportunity in a dynamic fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong leadership, management skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-priority product-building projects across multi-region and cross-functional teams.
• Provide holistic, commercially balanced advice to senior leadership on strategic tax positions.
• Oversee indirect tax compliance for new products across jurisdictions (GST/VAT).
• Lead and grow the Airwallex Tax Product team with product and engineering partners.
• Contribute to global projects like indirect tax reviews and country analyses to improve recovery ratios.
• Demonstrate experience coordinating across multiple time zones and cross-functional projects.

What you’ll do

Airwallex is looking for a proactive and motivated Senior Manager, Indirect Tax with extensive hands‑on experience and a global mindset to start building the Airwallex Tax Product team. This position will be part of the global tax function and focused on building indirect tax products and their performance. The role reports directly to the Global Head of Tax based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Lead complex, high priority product building projects whilst managing competing priorities – including working across multi‑region and cross‑functional teams
• Deliver holistic, commercially balanced advice to senior and executive level leadership to devise strategic, technical tax positions
• Oversee indirect tax compliance for our new products in different jurisdictions, including GST/VAT filings.
• Lead and help grow the new Airwallex Tax Product team while working closely with product and engineering teams.
• Contribute to complex global projects, such as global indirect tax reviews and specific country analyses to increase recovery ratios.

• Demonstrable experience working across multiple timezones, supporting and/or leading on strategic cross‑functional projects designed to identify growth opportunity or mitigate risk

• Bachelors or Masters in Finance, Accounting, Tax or another related field
• Previous experience working in at an accounting firm and preferable in multiple regions/ countries
• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Team player mentality and ability to work with individuals across functions and culture
