Senior Manager/Head, Supply Chain Planning

Role Purpose:

This role is responsible for leading, developing and coordinating the Global Supply Chain Planning (GSCP) portfolio of the organization as well as to monitor the Supply Chain performance, whilst striving to develop and improve the Global Performance metrics. Reporting to the Global VP of Supply Chain Management (SCM), the successful person will:

• Assist the VP of GSCP in developing global strategies for a high-performing and resilient end-to-end Supply Chain.
• Act as counterpart to the VP of Demand Planning and main contact for related Business Units to ensure order fulfillment that results in the achievement of sales targets and is the Voice of the Customer within the Operations organization.

Role Accountabilities:

• Lead and mentor a highly independent, target-oriented and high-performing GSCP organization across multiple sites, different continents and diverse cultures, fostering a culture of service, performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with global leaders in functions like Value Engineering, Quality, Production, Demand Management, Logistics to ensure customer- and goal-oriented planning approach globally.
• Stakeholder Management: Frequent communication of global supply chain strategies and operational performance to VP-, P- and C-level executive leadership, not limited to own function and including multiple Business Units.
• Develop a detailed Sales & Operations Plan (S&OP, long-term) for Total Production Units (TPUs) and Production Plants across 3 different regions and monitor adherence to output targets. Oversee prompt initiation of adjustments together with Production Management if necessary (Sales & Operations Execution).
• Develop an optimized Production Plan (short-term) to TPUs and production plants globally that suits Global Supply Chain Strategy and reacts to global market dynamics.
• Constantly align the Production Plan and Global Supply Chain Strategy with Managing Directors of the production plants to ensure the highest customer satisfaction & service.
• Develop an optimized Global Distribution Plan to ensure the ability to commit to customer orders and ensure supply of goods and services that meet the standards of quality, on-time and cost.
• Proactive communication of delivery times of product portfolio to enable sales organizations to generate sales orders and manage expectations.
• Ensure achievement of Global Delivery Reliability of Planning portfolio through availability and by implementing Global Supply Chain Strategies and continuous improvements to ensure the most efficient & effective goal achievement.
• Manage global inventory of Semi-finished/ Finished goods along necessary minimum and at target levels to fulfill service-, cost- and cash-targets.
• Collaborate in “Centre-of-Excellence” groups to advise and consult on topics of Supply Chain Analytics and Automation Solutions to achieve digital- and data-driven Supply Chain processes.
• Drive global initiatives for Supply Chain Resilience, Risk Mitigation and Cost Optimization whenever necessary.
• Proactive Management of global escalation topics in case of supply constraints.
• Develop a budget plan for the own organization and adhere to set cost targets.
• Ensure presence, shared identity, team motivation and performance by frequent travels to 3 different regions: Asia, EU and the US.

Role Requirements:

• A tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Production and/or Management.
• A minimum of 10 years of work experience in an international environment and within a professional structure of Logistics, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
• A minimum of 5 years of work experience in leading large teams of 20 members or more, ideally in different locations and diverse cultures.
• Proven track record of leading and developing regional supply chain operations in a complex environment.
• Strong understanding of supply- and demand planning and S&OP processes.
• High conceptual skills combined with analytical judgement.
• Strong leadership, excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills.
• Experienced in project management in a team environment and from a leadership standpoint.
• Good knowledge in various IT software applications (ERP, APS, data analysis).
• A team player with a great problem-solving attitude and a lateral thinker.
