Job summary

Singtel, a leading AI-enabled telecommunications group, is seeking a highly experienced SM, GRC to drive Compliance and Controls initiatives across Group and OpCos. The role focuses on ABC Compliance and Trade Compliance, strengthening governance while mitigating regulatory risk.

You will implement robust controls, collaborate across risk domains, and develop trainings to uplift risk awareness. A multinational, regulated environment awaits your expertise.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or Law.
  • 8 – 10 years working experience in a Compliance and Controls role.
  • Experience in a global multinational with US, SG (and SEA countries), CN, AU exposures, and/or
  • Technology and Telecommunications company, and/or
  • Highly regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in development, maintenance and implementation of Compliance and Controls related policies, frameworks, and programs (focused on Anti Bribery & Corruption and Trade Compliance)
  • Working experience in implementing GRC and/or related automation
  • Communication, interpersonal and collaboration, and stakeholder management
  • Attention to details
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Open-minded and a team player with a can-do attitude

Responsibilities

  • Execute initiatives in the Group’s Risk and Compliance (GRC) team and provide operational support to the Group’s Operating Companies (OpCos).
  • Focus on Compliance and Controls initiatives, including ABC Compliance and Sanctions/Export Controls (Trade Compliance).
  • Support the GRC team to ensure adherence to global regulatory standards and strengthen governance.
  • Help implement a robust controls framework across the organization to drive assurance activities.
  • Collaborate across enterprise risk management, business continuity, and other GRC initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver Compliance and Controls trainings and awareness programs.
  • Engage stakeholders to understand business objectives through effective collaboration.
  • Support risk assessments and reviews to identify gaps and remediation plans.
  • Maintain records and prepare periodic management and stakeholder reports.
  • Escalate material risks/issues in a timely manner.
  • Lead or support ad-hoc GRC projects and tasks as necessary.

How You will Make An Impact:

The role is expected to execute various initiatives in the Group’s Risk and Compliance (GRC) team, including providing operational support to the Group’s Operating Companies (OpCos) as assigned.

With a focus on Compliance and Controls initiatives, including topics around Anti-Bribery and Corruption Compliance (ABC Compliance) and Sanctions and Export Controls Compliance (Trade Compliance), the SM, GRC supports the GRC team in ensuring that Singtel Group and its OpCos adheres to global regulatory standards, fosters a culture of compliance and ethics, and mitigates legal and reputational risks.

The SM, GRC will also provide support in implementing a robust controls framework across the organization that is aimed to drive Groupwide assurance activities to mitigate against risks and strengthen governance.

From time to time, the role will be expected to cross collaborate and support in other GRC initiatives, (including enterprise risk management, business continuity management, insurance etc), with the aim to promote and create a risk and compliance aware environment.

Support and execute in the implementation of Compliance and Controls policies, frameworks, and initiatives to ensure Groupwide adherence.

Keep abreast of regulatory developments and emerging trends (including technology and solutions), and proactively identify and suggest for review Group / OpCos policies and programs to ensure that Compliance and Controls policies, frameworks, and programs are ‘fit-for-purpose’.

  • Support in the development of Compliance and Controls trainings and awareness programs and initiatives.
  • Establish a good working understanding of Group / OpCos business, operating environments, strategic objectives through stakeholder engagement and partnering.
  • Support in risk assessments and periodic reviews/testing to identify Compliance and Controls gaps and vulnerabilities and recommend relevant remediation and improvement plans.
  • Ensure comprehensive records of activities are maintained and prepare periodic management and stakeholder reports.
  • Ensure that material risks/issues are escalated in a timely manner.
  • Lead and/or support in ad-hoc GRC projects and/or tasks, as necessary.
Skills for Success:

  • Worked in a similar capacity within:
    • A global Multinational Company with US, SG (and SEA countries), CN, AU exposures, and/or

  • Working knowledge of Compliance and Controls related concepts
  • Proficiency in development, maintenance and implementation of Compliance and Controls related policies, frameworks, and programs (focused on Anti Bribery & Corruption and Trade Compliance)
  • Working experience in implementing GRC and/or related automation
