Responsibilities

  • Lead country risk assessments and develop risk-based audit plans.
  • Oversee end-to-end audit execution (planning, fieldwork, reporting).
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Review audit reports and elevate key risks and delays.
  • Identify control gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities with practical recommendations and remediation oversight.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify emerging risks and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Support governance, internal controls, risk mitigation, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Provide advisory reviews on strategic projects and digital initiatives.
  • Build strong working relationships with regional and local management teams.
  • Lead and develop audit team performance, coaching and mentoring.
  • Prepare and present audit reports to senior management and Audit Committee.
  • Monitor remediation actions and validate implementation.
  • Review operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance across Group policies.
  • Leverage data analytics to enhance audit coverage and insights.

Job description

The Senior Manager, Group Internal Audit will support in delivering the internal audit mandate in line with the Group Internal Audit Charter approved by the Audit Committee. The role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of the internal audit function, ensuring effective delivery of the annual audit plan, high-quality audit outcomes, and value-driven, risk-based insights across the Group. The role also holds direct regional responsibility for internal audit activities across Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, and North Asia (China, South Korea, and Hong Kong), and the person is expected to travel to these countries.

Responsibilities
  • Lead country risk assessments and develop risk-based audit plans.
  • Oversee end-to-end audit execution (planning, fieldwork, reporting).
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance practices, and risk management frameworks.
  • Review audit reports and elevate key risks and delays.
  • Identify control gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities, providing practical and value-adding recommendations, and drive follow-up and remediation of audit findings.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify emerging risks, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Support management on governance, internal controls, risk mitigation, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Provide advisory reviews on strategic projects, digital initiatives, mergers & acquisitions, and operational improvement programs.
  • Build strong working relationships with regional and local management teams.
  • Lead and develop audit team performance - coach and mentor internal audit team members and co-sourced resources.
  • Prepare and present audit reports and executive summaries to senior management and Audit Committee stakeholders.
  • Monitor and validate the implementation of agreed remediation plans and corrective actions.
  • Review operational effectiveness, productivity, and compliance with Group policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage data analytics and technology-enabled auditing techniques to enhance audit coverage and insights.
  • Promote a strong risk and control culture across the organization

Qualifications
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in external and/or internal audit.
  • Prior Big 4 or leading audit firm experience preferred.
  • Strong commercial experience within internal audit.
  • Exposure beyond traditional internal audit is highly desirable, including risk management, process improvement, transformation, compliance, operational excellence, commercial finance, or business control functions.
  • Experience within multinational corporations/ international work exposure preferred.
