Monitor the vessel OPEX usage ratio and investigate the reasons for any increase through discussion with ship manager.
Monitor the end of maintenance services for each marine navigation equipment and determine replacement timing (CAPEX) as appropriate.
Evaluate alternative fuels (e.g., bio-fuel, LNG, and Methanol) and their risks and provide counter-measures in collaboration with internal stakeholders and Ship Manager.
Arrange all necessary items/processes for vessel new build.
Work with internal stakeholders to draft, review, and set existing and new vessel policies.
Monitor vessels managed by ship management company to ensure compliance with regulations and in optimal condition.
Review periodically Ship Management company performance to make necessary changes to increase vessel efficiency.
Conduct audits of vessels and propose any improvements to management and ship management vendor.
Guide junior team members.
Take on any ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
CoC 1 attainment.
At least 8 - 10 years of experience as Officer or Engineer, with final rank as Master Mariner or Chief Engineer.
At least 10 years of experience as Superintendent or Vessel Manager in a ship management company.
Good at creating presentation materials and conducting presentations.
Good communications and influencing skills with good business acumen.
Hands-on and practical knowledge of container vessels.
Experience in ship management or ship building required.
Able to support crisis management.
