Job summary

LOTUS RESOURCES PTE. LTD. is seeking a senior professional in trade finance and banking to review contracts, manage L/C operations, and monitor cash flows within a commodity trading context.

The role covers MIS reporting, risk analysis, onboarding and KYC clearance of counter-parties, and close collaboration with banks to optimize credit lines and ensure regulatory compliance. Candidates should have CA/CFA/ACCA or equivalent, 15+ years in banking or commodity trading, and hands-on experience

Qualifications

• CA/CFA/ACCA qualification required.
• Experience in bulk commodity trading preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of letters of credit and shipping documents.

Responsibilities

• Review sales and purchase contracts.
• Manage trade finance activities including L/C advising, confirmation, bill discounting, L/C issuance, bank guarantees, collections, remittances and internal transfers.
• Liaise with banks for timely opening of LCs and discounting of export LCs.
• MIS: maintain cash flow monitoring, support AOP preparations, costing reviews, and daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Risk management: track trading position, P&L, MTM, onboarding and KYC clearances, and regulatory compliance.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

1) Documentation;

- Review sales & purchase contract.

- Managing Trade Finance activities including L/C advising, confirmation, bill discounting, L/C issuance, bank guarantee, Documents Collection, Remittances of Inward/Outward and internal transfers, etc.

2) Banking;

- Liaising with Bank’s operations & sales team for timely opening of LCs.

- Discounting of Export LCs and related work

- Prepare Documentation required for other payment terms like DA, DP or CAD

- Maintaining bank positions indicating the line utilization & availability. Planning on the optimal utilization of credit lines from banks and cash flow management.

- Tracking trade AR/AP and monitoring cash inflows and outflows to ensure timely receipt and payments of trade invoices.

3) MIS Works;

- Maintain and update MIS as per Management’s requirements.

- Cash flow monitoring, supporting the preparation of AOP for the business unit, review of costing and preparation of necessary documentation for internal approvals.

- Detailed presentations of daily, weekly & monthly reports for the team. Providing support to accounts teams to supply data.

4) Risk Management:

- Track and Perform Risk analysis of the daily trading position, P&L report , MTM and ensure internal control processes to ensure timely and correct P&L and risk reporting.

- Responsible for Onboarding and KYC clearances of counter-parties and monitoring credit exposures to the same.

- Must be able to apply knowledge of Regulatory requirements regarding Trade Finance and deals with banks and regulatory authorities.

- Investigate on any errors/ discrepancies with transactions including settlements with banks

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

- CA/CFA/ACCA by education

- Knowledge on Bulk Commodity Trading

- Hands on knowledge on Letter of Credits, Shipping Terms, Shipping Documents

- Basic Knowledge in Chartering, Marine Insurance, Charter Party Liability Insurance

- Hands on knowledge of banking terms and banking documentation

- Hands on knowledge of accounting

- Hands on knowledge of Derivatives Trading on platforms like SGX, CME, ICE, DCE.

- Work Experience of 15 years or more in a Bank or Commodity Trading Company is needed.
