Global Risk is a dynamic and expert risk management function supporting HSBC worldwide across various risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market, and reputation risks. Our team utilizes skills, insight, and integrity to manage established and emerging threats, protecting and enabling HSBC’s sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high-caliber professional to join as a Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management Capital and Behaviours.

Principal Responsibilities

Global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), a sub-function of Group Risk and Compliance, ensures HSBC understands and controls its non-financial risk through oversight of processes, risks, and controls. It promotes a strong risk culture via effective policies and frameworks that ensure consistent risk management practices across the organization at all levels.

The Senior Manager, ERM Capital and Behaviours, based in Singapore, supports behavioral risk management through the Notable Events / Reportable Incidents process, operational risk policy, and framework. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Contributing to operational risk measurement capabilities such as risk appetite, scenario analysis, capital modeling, stress testing, and capital allocation, ensuring local delivery of scenario programs.
  2. Managing resilience risk whistleblowing cases, incident reports, and investigations in accordance with regulatory and conduct standards regionally.
  3. Assisting in designing and implementing the global operational risk framework, including local guidance for regulatory or language needs, with global alignment.
  4. Supporting training and capability development for ERM, R&C, and wider HSBC teams to foster a robust understanding of operational risk areas.
  5. Enhancing Risk Steward capabilities through training initiatives.
  6. Supporting local stress testing activities, aligning with global methodologies, tools, and policies.
  7. Participating in global stress testing exercises as needed.
  8. Overseeing, reviewing, and challenging the execution of the RMF across Second Line of Defence (2LOD) NFR Stewards and increasingly Financial Risk Stewards, including setting standards, monitoring compliance, and supporting MI development.
  9. Providing backup for risk governance, risk appetite, and risk reporting functions as part of the Risk Strategy team.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of HSBC’s Risk Governance, Frameworks, and Policies.
  • Expertise in governance and risk frameworks, with experience in the second line of defence and governance roles preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of applicable regulatory environments.
  • Experience in preparing risk disclosures and materials for regulators, with analytical skills considered an advantage.
