Job description

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager is responsible for the development and management of the Policy framework, EIR policies, processes, employee & labour relations advocacy. This position interfaces with employees, HR Partners, managers, supervisors, unions, and government agencies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in managing EIR policies & processes.
  2. Collaborate with the legal and risk office in managing end-to-end staff disciplinary cases, including sanctions & terminations.
  3. Provide advisories to HR partners, managers, and supervisors on best employee and labour relations practices, strategies for managing sensitive issues, performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and conflict management.
  4. Assist in managing staff’s external interests/commitments and resolving potential or actual conflicts.
  5. Provide advisories on conflict of interest & staff’s external interests/commitments.
  6. Participate in union/arbitration meetings and negotiations.
  7. Research and explain employment legislations to HR partners, managers, supervisors, and employees.
  8. Assist in creating a database of staff disciplinary cases for dashboard reporting, trend analysis, and prediction.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of employment legislations.
  • Ability to understand and apply relevant laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
