Are you a seasoned professional in credit control and collections, ready to take your leadership to the next level? We're on the lookout for a Senior Manager to head our credit and collections team, ensuring healthy cash flow and safeguarding the company’s financial stability. This role plays a crucial part in managing risk, improving receivables performance, and leading a dedicated team to success.
What You’ll Be Doing
Credit Risk & Account Oversight
- Establish and maintain structured credit control frameworks to support sustainable credit sales.
- Evaluate customer credit profiles and financial standings on a regular basis.
- Track aging reports and proactively address overdue accounts.
Collections Leadership
- Lead end-to-end collections efforts to ensure prompt recovery of outstanding payments.
- Develop strategies and escalation paths for overdue accounts, including follow-up actions and settlement plans.
- Partner with internal finance stakeholders to reconcile account issues and ensure ledger accuracy.
Team Development
- Guide and grow a team of credit and collections professionals to deliver consistent results.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct coaching sessions, and support upskilling initiatives.
Client Engagement & Dispute Resolution
- Serve as the point of contact for escalated client payment matters.
- Foster long-term customer relationships through professional communication and effective problem-solving.
Reporting & Insights
- Deliver timely reports on credit and collections KPIs to management.
- Analyze data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure all credit and collections practices align with internal policies and external regulations.
- Adjust strategies to reflect changes in the business landscape and compliance requirements.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to align on credit terms, policies, and customer management.
- Support broader business goals through finance-related projects and initiatives.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related discipline.
- At least 5 years’ experience in credit control and collections, with 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong command of credit evaluation, collection strategies, and legal frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
