Technology Transfer and Innovation (TTI), NUS Enterprise is the technology translation and commercialisation arm of the National University of Singapore (NUS). Our dedicated team brings together expertise spanning technical, business, and legal domains, playing a pivotal role in advancing NUS's technology transfer, innovation, and enterprise initiatives.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Contracts team as a Senior Manager. The successful candidate will manage and negotiate contracts relating to intellectual property, technology licensing, and agreements crucial to realising NUS's translational research mandate and TTI's commercialisation goals.

Working closely with diverse teams within TTI and the NUS faculty, this role presents an exciting opportunity to leverage and refine your contract drafting and negotiation skills while driving innovation and technology commercialisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Contract Management

  • Draft, negotiate and manage contracts related to the translation and commercialisation of NUS IP, including license agreements, option agreements, technology development agreements, materials transfer agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Work with in-house or external legal counsel to ensure contracts align with NUS policies, legal requirements, and TTI's commercialisation goals.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractual arrangements and technology transfer activities.
  • Work closely with NUS research community and administration/finance offices to process and complete documentation relating to such contracts and its expiry/termination.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of contract negotiations, agreements, and IP-related matters.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders as required.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate closely with various teams within TTI and across NUS Enterprise to support the innovation and enterprise initiatives of NUS.
  • Proactively engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure contracts are concluded in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • A recognised degree in Physics / Chemistry / Engineering or a similar scientific discipline and/or a Law degree (or related disciplines).
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience, with demonstrated relevant experience in contracts management and negotiation roles highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of university technology transfer processes and IP-related concepts is preferred.
  • Familiarity with IP and contracts management databases or software.
  • Good interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to handle tight deadlines.
