About The Role
You will be leading a specialized team responsible the procurement and pricing of cocoa raw materials, and developing strategies and policies to enhance profitability. This role shall lead and manage two cocoa buyers to deliver team and region objectives.
Working closely with operational staff in regional sites around Asia entails clear, accurate and timely delivery of information and execution. Having a good grasp of market fundamentals like supply and demand, pricing methodologies and hedging tools would enable you to succeed in a key profit center within the firm.
Key Responsibilities Include
Responsible for managing regional procurement of Cocoa raw materials into the Chocolate factories
Develop commodity trading strategies to enhance positions during various market trends or economic conditions
Enhance networks with existing and potential trade partners on both the economic and innovation fronts
Support various projects for strategic sourcing, product innovation and budget analysis
Lead the team in analyzing market conditions, developing strategies, and executing trades/contracts
This position is part of the Asia Trading & Sourcing team, with a strong focus on the sourcing activities for the chocolate factories in AMEA.
Willing to travel up to 20% of the time
About You
Diploma/Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent
Fluent in written and spoken English, and preferably a second language
Experience with computer systems like Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), SAP
Additional qualifications like CFA, CAIA and/or experience with trading platforms not limited to Trading Technologies (TT), MetaTrader (MT4), Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE Connect is an added advantage
Have a good understanding of the commodities market, preferably Agriculture
Minimum 10 years of experience in commodity trading and operations
Preferably trading/investment experience in equities or commodities
Being able to manage and mentor a team to deliver business objectives
Strong business communication and stakeholder management
Keen sense of data analytics and interpretation
Ability to multi-task and deliver in a high pressure environment
Financial modelling and computer programming skills like SQL, Python and/or R is an added advantage
