You will work closely with investigators, forensic specialists, enforcement officers and other stakeholders to provide operational support at scenes, develop crime scene processes, and uplift forensic awareness and competency across frontline and investigative units.

What you will be working on:

Crime Scene Response and Management

  • Attend and support the management of crime scenes, incident scenes and other scenes of forensic interest.

  • Conduct systematic assessment, documentation, photography, sketching, search, recovery and preservation of physical and trace evidence.

  • Ensure proper scene control, contamination prevention, safety management and preservation of evidential value.

  • Advise officers on proper handling, packaging, labelling and submission of exhibits.

  • Maintain chain of custody, documentation and accountability for all recovered exhibits.

Forensic Support to Investigations

  • Work with investigators and forensic specialists to identify evidence sources and appropriate forensic strategies.

  • Support collection and preservation of evidence including biological traces, fingerprints, footwear marks, tool marks, fibres, documents, weapons and electronic devices.

  • Prepare scene documentation, reports, statements and materials for investigation or court purposes.

  • Provide operational input to case reviews, event reconstruction and investigative decision-making.

Capability Development and Process Improvement

  • Validate, evaluate and implement new crime scene equipment, techniques and technologies.

  • Participate in exercises, trials and after-action reviews.

Training and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Plan and deliver forensic awareness and crime scene management training for officers. Develop training materials, practical scenarios and competency-based assessments.

  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to promote good crime scene practices and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Document lessons learnt, good practices and operational learning points.

Governance, Quality and Readiness

  • Ensure crime scene processes comply with established procedures, safety requirements, legal considerations and evidential standards.

  • Maintain readiness of crime scene equipment, consumables, response kits and operational resources.

  • Support audits, reviews and quality assurance activities.

  • Keep abreast of developments in forensic science and crime scene investigation methods.

  • Experience in crime scene work, forensic examination, investigation, enforcement operations, laboratory operations or evidence management is advantageous.

  • Prior experience in crime scene processing, forensic photography, evidence recovery, fingerprint development, trace evidence handling or exhibit management is a strong advantage.

  • Familiarity with forensic laboratory processes, investigation workflows, chain of custody requirements and court processes is desirable.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information and exhibits.

  • Meticulous approach to evidence handling, record keeping and procedural compliance.

  • Strong observational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Good situational awareness and ability to operate under time-sensitive or operationally challenging conditions.

  • Physically fit and prepared to attend scenes and support operational deployments.

  • Willingness to work irregular hours and respond to scenes when required.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and capability development.
